Oversight Board says parent company Meta has ‘serious questions’ to answer over
two posts allowed to remain online
Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta must answer “serious questions” about its handling of
anti-immigration material, according to the company’s content watchdog, as it
opened an investigation into two Facebook posts.
The Oversight Board is investigating Meta’s decision to keep the posts online
after acknowledging that it receives a significant number of complaints from
users over content that shares anti-immigrant views.

discussions about discrimination with new designs
In her first year of culinary school, Reanna Bryan, 18, was told her braided
hairstyle was not suitable for the kitchen. “I was like, ‘What do you mean, you
can’t have braids or dreads?’ because this is what I wear. My hair is in braids
the majority of the time,” she says.
When she shared her experience with the young woman’s circle she is a member of
at Rise.365, a community support group based in Hackney, similar stories were
echoed back.

Immersive training scenarios highlight experiences of minority ethnic colleagues
in health service
In one scene, a black nurse called Tunde is told by his manager that personal
protective equipment (PPE) was being locked away at night to prevent its theft
during night shifts, during the pandemic when ethnic minorities were more likely
to work these hours.
In another, an Asian female doctor called Jasmine is dismissed by an HR manager
after raising a double standard regarding requests for shift changes during the
pandemic over childcare, something which her white colleagues were granted.
